DC Fire and EMS Museum

The DC Fire and EMS Museum and The Friendship Fire Association was officially chartered by the District of Columbia government in the late 1940's and is presently located on the 3rd floor of the historic Engine Company 3. On display in the museum are artifacts and memorabilia of firefighting in the District of Columbia dating back to more than 125 years ago. The DC Fire and EMS Museum offers guided tours, led by the Museum Director presenting these historical artifacts ad a safety tour to students grades 3-12. The D.C. Fire and E.M.S. Museum is open Monday- Friday 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Hundreds of fire-fighting items and related books, papers, and pictures are displayed in the 4,000-square foot Museum. A special 20-minute home fire safety cartoon and interactive presentation are available for small groups with advance reservations. The D.C. Fire and E.M.S. Museum is open Monday- Friday 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
