Young Playwrights’ Theater

By teaching students to express themselves through the art of playwriting, YPT develops students' language skills, and empowers them with the creativity, confidence and critical thinking skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. YPT honors its students by involving them in a high-quality artistic process where they feel simultaneously respected and challenged and by engaging professional theater artists in producing student plays for the community.

Professional Development Workshop

Presented by: Young Playwrights' Theatre
YPT is pleased to share arts integration best practices from our Common Core-aligned playwriting curriculum. Participants will learn about YPT programs, the definition of arts integration and successful classroom-generated examples, as well as how to engage students through creative writing in monologue format to respond to class content, current events, visual and performing art, written text and more. Each participant will engage in the monologue writing process, creating their own content during the professional development session as template for implementation in their own classroom.
