Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters
Presented by: The Dance Institute of Washington

African story ballet “Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters” tells the story of two sisters--one sweet and kind, the other jealous and vain. When the King invites both girls to travel to his city so he can choose a wife, their characters are put to the test. This lovely African folktale teaches the importance of pride, humility, and kindness. Dance Institute of Washington, featuring professional and alumni dancers, brings this story to life through classical ballet, modern, and African movement, music of Zimbabwe, and traditional African dress.
