Founded in 2016 by Andrew M. Lee, DC Strings Workshop connects to music through the presentation of concerts, recitals, and educational opportunities throughout the DC metropolitan area, particularly underserved communities. Our mission is to share our love of classical and contemporary orchestra and chamber music with the community. DC Strings takes pride in presenting meaningful and challenging orchestral works that rival the programming of larger orchestras and ensembles. DC Strings Workshop works to build community and expand horizons by engaging diverse audiences, supplying instruments to deserving students, and working to expose students and adults alike to music of women and underrepresented people of color.

DC Strings Virtual Concert & Discussion Series
Presented by: DC Strings
DC Strings #PlayON is a multidisciplinary program that introduces students to different genres of music through the power of storytelling, developing music technique and understanding how music history influences culture to this day. Students will have the opportunity to watch a brief performance, have a discussion with the artists, and walk through a curriculum that incorporates a variety of musical styles. Through understanding genres and the shared influences of music, students will develop their own unique approach to the study and pursuit of music. Each class is led by a professional musician/teaching artists, and students will receive instruction and the opportunity to further lessons through weekly/bi-weekly "office hour" music lessons.
