The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Foundation, Incorporated, was founded in the United States of America in 1959 by Swami Premananda. The purpose of the Foundation is to disseminate and represent the philosophy, ideal, life, service and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi as well as the cultural heritage of India.

Through our educational programs we at the Gandhi Memorial Center seek to introduce students of all ages to the timeless message of Mahatma Gandhi in ways that will be applicable to their individual lives.
Description of Education Initiatives: We welcome school groups to visit the Gandhi Memorial Center, discover our resources, and engage in cultural, geographical, linguistic, historical and philosophical concepts that relate to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi through interactive presentations and a range of fun activities. Fun Fact! The Gandhi Memorial Center has a life-sized bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi that was sculpted from life in 1947. Visitors of all ages love to see and touch the seated figure of Gandhi at the spinning wheel as they learn about his life and message.
