Education

Through our educational programs we at the Gandhi Memorial Center seek to introduce students of all ages to the timeless message of Mahatma Gandhi in ways that will be applicable to their individual lives.

Description of Education Initiatives: We welcome school groups to visit the Gandhi Memorial Center, discover our resources, and engage in cultural, geographical, linguistic, historical and philosophical concepts that relate to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi through interactive presentations and a range of fun activities. For more information, visit their education page.

Partnership with DC Collaborative

DC Collaborative member since 2008.

"The DC Collaborative has for many years made it possible to bring students from DC public and public charter schools to the Gandhi Memorial Center who would not otherwise have the opportunity to visit. The Collaborative has been a tremendous resource for raising the awareness among teachers and educational staff about the Gandhi Memorial Center, its mission and activities."

Fun Fact! The Gandhi Memorial Center has a life-sized bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi that was sculpted from life in 1947. Visitors of all ages love to see and touch the seated figure of Gandhi at the spinning wheel as they learn about his life and message.
