DC Collaborative Suspending All Trips Through April 3rd

March 12, 3 PM
Message to Educators

As the COVID-19 virus continues to impact the DC Metropolitan area, the DC Collaborative is suspending all field-trips, in-school workshops/ residencies and professional development workshops offered through the DC Collaborative's Arts and Humanities for Every Student (AHFES) program tomorrow, March 13 through Friday, April 3, due to the State of Emergency and Public Health Crisis declaration and the DCPS Chancellor's event and travel update.
We understand that this decision may be upsetting for you and your students, however we are committed to the health and safety of all of our partners and their communities. At the present moment we have not begun to reschedule field trips and are not sure if that will be possible for every trip. We encourage you to reach out the cultural organizations directly to see what options there may be in the future for additional learning opportunities. Please include us in that communication.
In preparation for possible distance learning, the DC Collaborative has begun creating an electronic database that will feature online and printable arts and humanities educational resources for your students. When it is complete, we will make sure that the link is shared with you as a tool for lesson planning.
If you have any questions regarding this, please email Education Programs Manager, Trés McMichael, at tres@dccollaborative.org. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility
