Education

Our education mission is to connect emerging Irish art to an environment of learning and growth.

Description of Education Initiatives: Through theatrical productions, literature, music, dance and visual arts, we help our audiences understand the historical and contemporary underpinnings of Irish art. Most recently we brought high school students from the District of Columbia to a theatrical production centered on Frederick Douglass's 1845 transformative trip to Ireland. In-school workshops preceded the performance, introducing the students to the history and themes of the production.

Arts and Humanities for Every Student Provider

Solas Nua is an AHFES Provider! Teachers can view their AHFES Catalogue here.

Fun Fact! Solas Nua's theatrical productions shine as "site specific": in an abandoned warehouse, a pier on the Anacostia River, a church sanctuary, private homes, outdoor public spaces, and more.
