The Uncle Devin Show

The Uncle Devin Show is an interactive musical experience for children that uses percussion instruments to cultivate their minds - a dynamic cross between DC's Trouble Funk and Schoolhouse Rock. Uncle Devin uses different musical instruments, along with his award-winning book, “The ABC’s of Percussion with Music CD,” to help students construct and demonstrate an understanding of how the sounds made from percussion instruments were used to communicate long before the telephone, computer, email, and other modern forms of communication. Students will engage in a creative process that connects the sounds and rhythm of percussion instruments with your desired curriculum focus, i.e., history and culture.

Uncle Devin's Wonderful World of Percussion
Presented by: The Uncle Devin Show
The Uncle Devin Show is an interactive musical experience for children that uses percussion instruments to cultivate their minds - a dynamic cross between DC's Trouble Funk and Schoolhouse Rock. This assembly provides live and virtual performances that take students from grades 0-8 on a magical journey through the Land of Percussion allowing them to hear, see and play different percussion instruments.
Date: We are available to perform between October 5, 2020, and June 18, 2021. Because we provide online concerts and residencies throughout the year, it would be best for the teachers to reach out to us with the desired dates and we will work to select a date that works best for both parties.
Time: The best times for programs are between 10 am - 1 pm.
Length of Event: 45-60 minutes
Location: Virtual
Content Area: Arts
Medium: Music/Music Production;
Learning Standards: Literature and Math
Grades: Pre-K - 8th
Ticket capacity: For virtual performances, attendance is capped at 100 (including teachers) for assemblies. For groups larger than 100, many teachers may decide to split them up depending on the age ranges, for instance, pre-k - 2 and 3-5 for example. In that case, they will book two assemblies the same day. We do have that flexibility and have done up to 3 assemblies for some schools in one day.  However, please note that there is a fee for each assembly.
Supplementary Materials: TBD

Cost: Our 2020/2021 pricing is $595/ per show and we will offer a 10% discount on the first show booked.  We also offer a $545/ per show for multiple show rate for schools that wish to book multiple shows either on the same or different dates.
