Wolf Trap Institute’s Field Trip Performance is designed to be a child’s first exposure to the performing arts. As part of your participation in the Wolf Trap Institute’s residency program, your early childhood classroom is invited to attend a Wolf Trap Field Trip performance this spring. Created by A Place To Be and commissioned by Wolf Trap, this year we will feature the world premiere musical theater performance titled, Behind These Trees

Encouraging Health and Wellness For Babies and Toddlers - Learning Module
Using music and movement experiences promote health and wellness while fostering the connection between the adult and child. The resources in this module show parents and educators how to create experiences that foster quiet time between adult and child, provide vestibular stimulation important to brain development, teach about body parts, create positive feelings about healthy food, and promote fun exercise! The experiences in this module were developed for Little Voices for Healthy Choices, A National Initiative for Early Head Start (EHS) and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) administered by the Early Head Start National Resource Center.

Wolf Trap Institute's Behind These Trees
Presented by: Wolf Trap

Flora the butterfly is a new resident of the Wolf Trap forest. Worried about how she will fit in with her two different wings, she soon finds out that the other animals are all unique in their own ways. Starring a cast of performers with and without disabilities this new musical will reveal the importance of friendship and celebrating our differences.

All performances will take place at Wolf Trap's Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods. Nestled in a shady grove of trees, this 700 seat outdoor venue is the ideal place to experience a live performance. Here, nature works in perfect harmony with nationally recognized performers to ignite a lifelong love for the performing arts.
