Music Through the Ages: Sounds of the Americas in Practice

Explore the history of music/sound in ancient Mesoamerica & the Andes through instruments in the Pre-Columbian collection, listening to recordings & imagining how they were used in ritual, celebration, & daily life. Students will compose original pieces by blending audio from ancient instruments with contemporary songs using the Soundtrap platform. This process encourages reflection on how musical traditions preserve cultural identity while continuing to inspire modern expression.
