Designing Equity – Part 2: Navigating School Culture/Policy
January 23 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm$15 – $25
$25 for non-members
$15 for members
Presented by The Wells Collective, a diversity, equity, inclusion and justice firm with extensive experience with equity-centered training, auditing, and strategic planning. They work with schools and organizations to help them understand their power and position in society in order to manifest the necessary tools to serve as architects for liberation.
The firm is led by six Black women who are experienced diversity practitioners, researchers, leaders and educators. They structure impactful learning experiences that both invite and challenge participants to grow. Believing that equity and justice work has always been led by Black women, they also operate with the collective understanding that liberation comes from within.
This session, focus on grades 6-12, will provide key information to bring creative vision to the school space. Participants will be provided with prospective school leaders’ use when deciding on extended learning activities that support traditional classroom programming. Additionally, this session will help participants gain some key classroom management and instructional tools.
DC Collaborative revised its memberships to provide a better experience for our community.
We encourage members of diverse backgrounds, professions, and interests, including (but not limited to) teaching artists, arts and humanities organizations, non-profits, for-profits, parents, educators, and government representatives to join.
