Cinema Classroom at The Avalon – The Courageous Life of Irena Sendler

The true story of a social worker who was part of the Polish underground during World War II and was arrested by the Nazis after saving the lives of nearly 2,500 Jewish children.

Cinema Classroom at the historic Avalon Theater offers free programming to schools and students in grades 6-12. Featured films engage students in pressing human rights and social justice issues through screenings and expert-guided discussions. Films are paired with interviews hosted by subject-matter experts who guide students through engaging post-film discussions.

20 – 30 mins: Post-Screening Workshop w/ Special Guest (where available)
