Seeing Shapes and Colors

Seeing Shapes and Colors is an interactive two-part educational school program that asks students to consider how paintings and sculptures use shapes and colors to communicate. The visit beings with a tour of the Museum’s permanent collection including works by Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, and members of the Washington Color School. Followed by a hands-on activity, where students will apply the concepts they learned on the tour directly to their artwork using artist-grade materials.
