Designing Equity – Part 1: Bringing Creativity into the Curriculum

Virtual

This session, focused on grades K-12, helps to give key tools for ensuring arts and humanities education program offerings center equity. The Wells Collective will guide participants through the process of pairing their creative expression with an identity-focused curriculum to promote anti-racist learning spaces. This session challenges participants to go beyond diverse representation and move towards helping students challenge systems through their experiences with the arts.

Designing Equity – Part 2: Navigating School Culture/Policy

Virtual

This session, focus on grades 6-12, will provide key information to bring creative vision to the school space. Participants will be provided with prospective school leaders' use when deciding on extended learning activities that support traditional classroom programming. Additionally, this session will help participants gain some key classroom management and instructional tools.

Designing Equity – Part 3: Working Lab Session

Virtual

This working session will provide an opportunity to go from the idea to action. Participants will be able to access direct coaching in a small group setting to get questions answered and finish their designs. Participants only need to attend one of the two sessions.

Register Here The program is open to 30 high school dancers entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2024 from across the nation who desire to pursue dance careers, show great leadership potential, are interested in developing their creative voice, and have a hunger to make a positive impact on the world.
